10 Things to Do on the South Shore This Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day Weekend is here, and there’s still time for one more great summer weekend on the South Shore! From waterfront fireworks and beach parties to live music, local history and family-friendly outings, here are 10 things to do September 4–7, 2026.

1. Arts & Crafts on the Green
Spend Saturday browsing local artists, makers and handcrafted goods at Plymouth Town Hall Green. The event takes place Saturday, September 5 and makes an easy addition to a day exploring downtown Plymouth.

2. Free Burial Hill Tour
Get a little local history in with the Plymouth Antiquarian Society's special Labor Day weekend tour of Burial Hill. This month's topic explores smallpox in Revolutionary-era Plymouth. It's Saturday, September 5 from 1–2 PM.

3. Explore Great Esker Park
Not every Labor Day activity needs an admission ticket. Take advantage of the long weekend with a walk through Great Esker Park, where trails wind along an impressive glacial esker overlooking the Weymouth Back River and salt marsh.
4. Make It a Local Brewery Afternoon
Stop by Vitamin Sea Brewing in Weymouth. The taproom is open throughout Labor Day weekend and regularly hosts rotating food trucks, making it an easy casual afternoon with friends.

5. Labor Day Fireworks over Quincy Bay 🎆
This is one of the weekend's big South Shore events. Quincy will present a special Labor Day Fireworks Tribute on Sunday, September 6, with fireworks scheduled for approximately 8 PM over Quincy Bay. Wollaston Beach is among the prime viewing areas.

6. Minot Beach Yoga
Start Saturday morning by the ocean with Minot Beach Yoga from 8–9 AM on September 5. It's a pretty great South Shore way to begin Labor Day weekend.

Saturday night brings the annual Labor Day Weekend BBQ, with live music from The Wickies. The public event runs 7–11 PM on Saturday, September 5.

9. Labor Day Beach Party & Bonfire 🔥
This one feels like the perfect farewell to summer. The Duxbury July 4th Activities Committee is hosting its Labor Day Beach Party and Bonfire at Duxbury Beach on Saturday, September 5 with live music, a bonfire and food available for purchase. The event is for Duxbury residents.

10. Live Music at the Spire Center
Finish Saturday with a show at the Spire Center for Performing Arts. Cantrip & Low Lily perform Saturday, September 5 at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM.
