Fall is officially here, and the South Shore is celebrating with plenty of cold beer, German-inspired food, live music, stein-hoisting competitions and Oktoberfest fun. Stellwagen Oktoberfest — Marshfield
Stellwagen Beer Company is kicking off its Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 26, from noon–9 p.m. Expect Festbier, German food from The Sausage Guy, keg-tossing competitions and steinholding contests. The brewery is also holding a second Oktoberfest celebration on October 3.

Rocktoberfest Seaside Biergarten — Quincy
Break Rock Brewing is transforming its Marina Bay waterfront biergarten into a two-day Oktoberfest celebration. Saturday runs noon–10 p.m. and Sunday noon–7:30 p.m. with Festbier, warm pretzels, grilled sausages, German-inspired food and live music. Best of all, admission is free and all ages are welcome.

Oktoberfest at Starland — Hanover
Starland's Beer Garden gets a Bavarian makeover on Saturday from 3–6 p.m. The afternoon includes traditional music, Sam Adams beer specials, Bavarian snacks, giveaways, lawn games and stein hoisting. Adult tickets are $30 and include a Sam Adams stein, an Oktoberfest Lager pour and Bavarian pretzel bites. Children can attend with an adult 21 or older.

Oktoberfest at Black Hat Brew Works — Bridgewater
Black Hat Brew Works is celebrating on Sunday, September 27, from noon–7 p.m. The lineup includes an Oktoberfest menu from Just the Dip food truck, live music from Professor Harp, a stein-holding competition and specialty beer pours.

September by the Sea — Sandwich
If you're willing to head a little farther south, Tree House's Sandwich location is holding September by the Sea on Saturday from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. While not billed as a traditional Oktoberfest, it has plenty of Oktoberfest flavor with stein holding, live music and ring toss, along with the debut of Tree House's clam pizza.
